On September 22, the Deputy Speaker of the RA National Assembly Mikayel Melkumyan, the Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on European Integration Naira Zohrabyan, the Secretary of the RA NA Tsarukyan Faction Vahe Enfiajyan met with the members of the Delegation of the Conservative Party of the United Kingdom (UK), who arrived in Armenia by the invitation of the Head of the RA NA Tsarukyan Faction Gagik Tsarukyan to take part in the Conference Conservatism and Progress .
Welcoming the guests, the RA NA deputy Speaker Mikayel Melkumyan highly assessed the current level of the relations between Armenia and the United Kingdom. According to the Deputy Speaker, in the state, public administration the Conservative Party has a serious experience and role, thus the cooperation will promote the expansion of the trade turnover, and cultural ties between the countries.
Mikayel Melkumyan presented the parliamentary activities of Tsarukyan Faction, touched upon the steps taken in our country and the works of harmonization with the legislation.
The Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on European Integration Naira Zohrabyan highlighted the cooperation of the two parties on the international platform.
Assessing the role of the United Kingdom in the world political culture, the Secretary of the RA NA Tsarukyan Faction Vahe Enfiajyan underlined that the cooperation with each other would promote the strengthening of the democratic institutes in Armenia, as well as the civil society.
The interlocutors touched upon the issues of cooperation in different spheres, the regional problems, particularly, the settlement of Nagorno Karabakh problem, highlighted the provision of peace and stability in the region.
Let us note that the members of the UK Conservative Party Delegation visited Tsitsernakaberd Memorial Complex. The guests laid flowers at the monument eternalizing the memory of the Armenian Genocide victims, bowing honoured the memory of the Holy Martyrs. They had also been in the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute and got acquainted with the exhibits.
